I also love the idea of gamification – a friendly competition between departments for the cleanest, safest zone, with a small reward. When people are actively engaged and see the direct, positive impact of their participation, that’s when a safety culture truly flourishes.
It moves from being “the company’s rules” to “our way of doing things” – a shared value everyone believes in.
